Adventure Racing Series

NEXT RACE DATE in the 2008 AR Series will take place on July 19, 2008, at Bayard Conservation Area.

The BEAR Adventure Race - on Sunday, 8/31/2008 - will have both 10-hour limit & 6-hour limit races.

If you and your teammates have not already registered for the next Performance Adventure Racing event, we want to invite you to this race. The 3-Hour Super-Sprint Race format is a challenging and do-able adventure race and does not require teams to bring their own boats. The Performance Adventure Racing Sprint Series events start at 9:00AM and will take most teams from 2 to 2.5 hours to finish. The races have a 3-hour cut-off for completion, so that awards can begin not later than 12:30am. The Performance Adventure Racing Series 6-hour Mid-Distance events also start at 9:00AM and will take most teams from 4.5 to 5.5 hours to finish. The races have an 6-hour cut-off for completion, so that awards can begin not later than 3:30pm. We have designed each race course that you will find exciting and demanding -- and fun. The disciplines of the Performance Adventure Racing Sprint Series include off-road biking, paddling in canoes or kayaks (not in the 3-hr Super-Sprint), non-technical climbing and ropes challenges, navigating with a compass, running/trekking, and some interesting mystery events.

As you probably understand, specific details of the race components are a mystery until the day of the race, but we are happy to answer your questions that do not ask us to "give away" specific secrets about the event. As with many other adventure races, the course, order, and challenges change from year to year for The Performance AR Sprint Series races. ENTRY- SuperSprint and Mid-Distance Adventure Races -   

Special Discounts: Military/Public Safety Teams are made up of people working actively as members of the military, or police, sheriff, fire, rescue, or lifesaving organizations. To qualify, Team must have at least two active-duty personnel on each team. Military/Public Safety Teams must process their entries through The Race Director for The Performance AR Series -- send your entry to Performance MultiSports - AR Race + (month), 365 Charlemagne Circle, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082. Military Team entries must include photocopy of military/employer picture ID for each Team member. You may email the RD or call with questions: (904) 285-1552.  Military/Public Safety Teams: Entry fee for  2-person team is $140 postmarked at least three weeks before the race; no discount if sent less than three weeks before the race. Entry forms and fees must be received at least two weeks prior to race to qualify for this special discount.
