725-5000 -- A limited number of kayaks or canoes are available
for rental for The Performance Adventure Racing Series events.
The participant would need to reserve and prepay for the boats. Army
Navy Outdoors will drop them off and would also be there to take them
back after the race!! The cost would usually be $30 to 35 for the day,
where you do the pickup and drop-off at Army Navy Outdoors . Located

be suited for your team in The Performance Adventure Races. Peter suggests the following Dagger kayak models for the race: Cortez,
Magellan, Charleston, and Savannah. You can view these boats at the
site for Dagger kayaks at http://www.dagger.com.

NOTE: KAYAKS & CANOES
-- Keep in mind that
Hanna Park is an oceanfront park -- while it has a large lake, the Park is
located on the Atlantic Ocean and is also near the St Johns River and the
Intracoastal Waterway. Paddle sections of Performance Adventure Race
courses -- especially The BEAR -- could take place on any
available local waters and often include a portage. Kayaks or canoes are
not provided by the managers of this race. Your Team may choose to use
either kayaks or canoes or both (singles, doubles or a combination).
Weather and waves on the ocean or large bodies of water can be very
challenging and your Team needs to be up to the challenge. The choice of
the style or combination of kayaks or canoes is up to you and your Team.
We would prefer that you use "boats" that are familiar to your
Team for safety's sake. Don't forget that you will need a life jacket for each
member of your Team. You may want to consider renting kayaks or
canoes in your home area and practicing with them prior to competing in
The Performance Adventure Races.
BIKE RENTALS:
All Biking will be done off-road. Our park areas include single-track
trails, as well as beaches and dirt roads. Be sure to bring an appropriate
off-road bike. We are seeking information on more mountain bike rentals,
but in the meantime, you can contact:
