Adventure Race
and time.
This special event includes a combination of several sports rolled into one
race: orienteering by compass, beach and trail running,
off-road biking, non-technical climbing,
kayak or canoe paddling and portage, and some other mystery
challenges. The event is for teams made up of either two or
four athletes
per team, who start together, compete, and finish together. These teams can be mixed
gender or single-sex. Adventure racing blends exciting challenges with great fun.

| Plan to bring plenty of fluids, since this will be a
hot weather race and participants must carry all the items and water they will need for
the race. There will be one to two transition points where participants may leave
some articles, but should expect to carry all their own water and any foods. The duration
of the race is expected to be from 4-6 hours, depending upon the weather and the
performance of the teams. You can find more BEAR Info here.

| The course will focus on the natural features of the
Jacksonville Beaches area, and could take teams anywhere from the Intracoastal Waterway to
the Atlantic Ocean beaches, including the communities of Mayport, Atlantic
Beach, Neptune Beach, Jax Beach, and Ponte Vedra Beach. Multiple team
challenges will be provided. Entrants will need to have a mountain bike, helmet, gloves,
running shoes, a willingness to go beyond the usual limits, and a strong sense of
determination. Good sportsmanship and a sense of humor will also be useful and beneficial.
This could be one of those events you will remember and tell your children and
