Directions to Fernandina Beach:

Fernandina Beach (north of Jacksonville) is a great place for cycling; these directions should assist you in finding the best starting point.

Park at the Recreation Center, 2500 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach - the RED STAR in the maps below. This is almost directly across the road from the entrance to Fort Clinch State Park (and just about 200 feet west). Fort Clinch has several great, challenging trails for off-road riding. If you want to stay on pavement, go over toward the beach and follow Highway A1A. For a diversion, try taking the Amelia Island Parkway when you get south of Fernandina Beach itself.

  1. From Jacksonville and points south or north, take Interstate 95 to Yulee and exit there. Follow the signs toward Fernandina Beach. Go east on Hwy 200 into Fernandina Beach, turn east on Sadler Road to South Fletcher; north on Fletcher Ave to Atlantic Ave., and left on Atlantic Ave to the Recreation Center, or
  2. From Jacksonville, follow Hwy 9A north to Heckscher Blvd, go east on Heckscher until it turns north and becomes Hwy A1A, all the way to Atlantic Avenue; turn left on Atlantic Ave to the Rec Center, or
  3. From the Jacksonville Beaches, cross the St Johns River on the Ferry in Mayport, turn right onto Hwy A1A, and continue on A1A to Atlantic Avenue. Turn left on Atlantic Ave to the Rec Center.

You may also want to use Mapquest to find the best directions from your home to the run site.
