 | The Performance Jetty-2-Jetty Ultramarathon & Team Relay will
take place on Saturday, 2/28/09. |
 | For 2008, we have been honored that the Performance
Jetty-2-Jetty Ultramarathon is part of Trail
Runner Magazine's Trophy Series, a collection of the nation's
best off-road, long-distance running events. Participation in the
Trophy Series is open to individual runners completing the full
distance as solo runners, who will be eligible for Series points and
prizes from an array of sponsors. All solo finishers in J2J will be
entered in the nationwide Trophy Series. (There is not currently a
division for relay teams in the Trophy Series.) For more about the Trophy
Series, click here. |
 | Host hotel: To be announced... ________ will be the host hotel for the
Jetty-2-Jetty Ultra and Team Relay. |
 | Late registration will take place at the host hotel, on the evening prior
to the race, from 6:00 to 6:45pm. |
 | Each participant (including each member of relay teams) needs
to print out, complete and deliver a signed Waiver
& Release to the race officials at the late registration
and Pre-Race Briefing. |
 | Pre-Race Briefing
at host hotel on on the evening prior to the race, at 7:00pm, for all race participants (or a Team
representative), will include maps, distance/access hand-outs, and a safety briefing.
This is also a good opportunity to secure transportation from the finish
line with other
participants back to your
vehicles. |
 | We strongly urge you to have a team
representative at the Pre-Race Briefing on the evening
prior to the race. Any changes to start times or location for meeting
on Race Day will be announced at the Pre-Race Briefing. Be there! |
 | Race-day check in takes place from 30-45 minutes prior to start
time for the race --
location to be announced at the Pre-race briefing at host hotel on
the evening prior to the race. After that time, participants will move with the Race
Officials to the start. All solo
participants and first relay team runners starting the Race must go
together with the Race Officials at this time to be included in the
Race. |
 | Overall Time Limit: There will be an 7-hour time limit for the
Jetty-2-Jetty Ultramarathon & Team Relay. This represents an
average pace of 12 minutes per mile. All racers and teams
must have completed the course within 7 hours of the start time to be
considered official finishers. |
 | Intermediate Cut-off Times/Locations: As deemed necessary by race officials, there will be intermediate cut-off points along the latter
part of the course to avoid having runners left on the course past the time
limit. Unless otherwise stated in the pre-race briefing or amended by
Race Officials, there will be an intermediate cut-off at Guana River
State Park Main Entry/Gate Station (27 miles/43.75 km) at 5 hours and
24 minutes after the start; there will also be an intermediate cut-off
at the Reef Restaurant (32.2 miles/52.1 km) at 6 hours and 25 minutes. |
 | All participants should make and bring copies of the Distance
Chart located at http://www.performancemultisports.com/jetty-2-jetty_distances.htm.
Your support crew should also have a map of the roads from Mayport to
St Augustine. |
 | Racers' support crews will find it useful to have a copy of the Florida
Gazetteer (pages 58 and 68) or a detailed map of the roads along
coastline from Mayport to the St Augustine inlet. |
