Running, Walking, and Biking Training
Workouts:
 | Tuesday and Thursday evenings each week
- Guided by certified coaches. Tuesday Runs leave at 6:30pm; Thursday
runs leave at 6:30pm, from the south
parking lot of Sawgrass Village Shopping Center in Ponte Vedra Beach,
FL - click for map. The courses have options for 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, or more miles through the neighborhoods of
Ponte Vedra Beach, with stops for water at roughly two-to-three mile intervals. There are
runners of varying paces and abilities, so this run is for anyone. For

meets for dinner after Tuesday's run. |
 | Saturday mornings each week -
Guided by certified coaches. Meeting time is 6:50am, and the run leaves at
7:00am from the Starbucks/Subway parking lot on Hwy A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach,
FL, across from the south entrance to Sawgrass Country Club. The courses
could change from week-to-week to provide more variety of
scenery and terrain. Distances from 3 to 15 miles. Contact Performance

 | Sunday mornings
periodically
- Very informal group TRAIL rides and runs, especially in the Jacksonville and
Beaches area, led by Jakson Badenhoop and Craig O'Neal. Sometimes we
also include trail runs along with trail rides - the locations
vary, so send an
email to request getting yourself on our Trail Rider/Runner list. We
will notify you about details. All abilities are welcome. Trails =
dirt, roots, and possible mud and sand. Bring a helmet, water, -- and
a change of clothes and
shoes, so you can join the group for brunch. |

- Very informal group road runs, leaving at 6:30am -- meet at the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and 1st Street,
where Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach meet, near the Ocean One/Sea Turtle Hotel. The course has
options for 5, 7, 10, or more miles through the neighborhoods of Atlantic and Neptune
Beaches, with stops for water at roughly two-to-three mile intervals. There are often
20-40 runners, all of varying paces and abilities, so this run is for anyone.

Cycling
 | Saturday mornings in Spring, Summer & Fall
at 7:00am, "The Geezers" (masters cyclists and triathletes) meet on North First
Street at 17th Avenue North, beside the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Jacksonville Beach.
Ride south through Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach toward St. Augustine --length
is usually about 25-50 miles, depending upon individual choice. Speeds vary, too, though
they tend to be steady. |
 | Saturday mornings in Spring, Summer & Fall
at 7:30am, meet at the intersection of Corona Road and Ponte Vedra Boulevard (across from
The Lodge and Club) in Ponte Vedra Beach. Ride south through Ponte Vedra Beach, with
alternative courses to St. Augustine, Palm Valley, Orangedale, and other locations. This
is a younger group of "roadies" with some fast riders who like to sprint. The
length of the rides is likely to vary and the speed will, too. |
 | Various times and locations -- the North Florida Bicycle Club
has some periodic training rides in the Beaches area. Contact NFBC Ride Director Jeanne

Several of the local bike shops, such as American Bicycle Company and Champion Schwinn,
both in Jacksonville Beach, may also have training rides from time to time. |

Swimming
 | Wednesday evenings - Masters swimming at
University of North Florida Aquatic Center, an Olympic-sized pool. The campus is located
just off St. Johns Bluff Road, near the J. Turner Butler Expressway (SR 202). Call there
